Jane Gillespie

Journey to Me Program

The Journey to Me counselling program grew out of Jane Gillespie’s book of the same name. She wrote this to help her make sense of her life after cancer. In addition to surviving cancer, some of Jane’s life experiences include infertility, adoption, giving birth to her own disabled child and divorce.

Jane used to feel responsible for everybody else. She spent so much of her time trying to be the good daughter/wife/mother/employee that she had no idea who she was. After surviving cancer she embarked on the most important journey of her life – to find herself.

Qualifications and Experience

Jane graduated from the College of Holistic Counselling (now the Hammond Institute) in 1997 and later gained a certificate in clinical hypnotherapy from the NSW School of Hypnotic Sciences. She believes her main qualification is surviving life’s challenges and thriving.

She is an experienced counsellor and group facilitator, helping people to find ways of managing grief, loss and change in their lives.

Over the past 10 years Jane has facilitated support groups and retreats for cancer patients and their families through the Life Force Cancer Foundation. For more information about cancer support services in Sydney go to www.lifeforce.org.au.
